A Saturday 1-2 for the team as William of Orange (stable-mate Chti Balko in 2nd) wins the Class 2 Smarkets Challenger Two Mile Hurdle Series Final Handicap Hurdle by over 3 lengths under Lorcan Murtagh in the colours of T W Johnson & G Maxwell. 

Chased leaders, pushed into 2nd 3 out, driven in close 2nd 2 out, led last, ridden to draw clear run-in, ran on well (op 7/1)

24th March – Bangor

The good form continues as Knockrobin (Deva Racing) and Same Circus (Penketh and Sankey Jech Racing Club) win well giving Team McCain and Brian Hughes a double at our local track.

23d March – Sedgefield

A Saturday double for Team McCain and Brian Hughes! A first hurdle victory for Birch Vale winning the 2m1f Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle in the colours of Tim & Miranda Johnson followed by Henry’s Joy taking the Class 2 feature race by 2 lengths for T G Leslie.

16th March – Musselburgh

A hat-trick for Nefyn Bay as he wins the 2m4f Handicap Chase under Brian Hughes in the colours of Tim & Miranda Johnson.

Tracked leader, pushed along 4 out, rallied and every chance 2 out, led last, driven out (op 5/2)

90 up for the season as Uppertown Prince makes all to win the Novice Hurdle by 18 lengths under Brian Hughes in the winning colour of T G Leslie.

Made all, drew clear from 3 out, easily (op 1/8)

2nd March – Southwell

A worthwhile trip for the ‘Jumpers’ Bumper’ card as we took 5 runners, with 3 coming home the victors in the form of Swashbuckle (Brian Hughes/Matthew Taylor), Good Tradition (Harry Stock/C D Stock) and Fin and Game (Brian Hughes/T G Leslie).
