Its ‘Red Rum Day’ so of course there had to be a McCain winner! Consecutive wins for Derintoher Yank as he wins the Class 3 2m Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase – A Pillar-to-Post performance winning by 2 lengths under Will Kennedy in the colours of Don’t Tell The Wife Racing.

Made all, pushed along when 3 lengths clear 2 out, extended advantage approaching last where 5 lengths clear, driven out run-in where lead reduced, never in danger


16th October – Musselburgh

A family affair as Tawseef makes all to win the 2m Amateur Riders’ Handicap under Miss Ella McCain winning by 15 lengths in the colours of D McCain Jnr.

Made all, drew clear from 3f out, very easily (op 11/4)


8th October – Kelso

A winner for the Donald McCain Racing Club as Craig Star takes the 2m5f Handicap Hurdle by 14 lengths under our yard conditional Lorcan Murtagh5.

Tracked leaders, already led when hit 2 out, clear when bumped by loose horse run-in, stayed on well (op 4/1 tchd 9/2)


4th October – Bangor

Derintoher Yank makes all to win the 2m½f Handicap Hurdle by over 2 lengths under Will Kennedy in the colours of Don’t Tell The Wife Racing Partnership.

Made all, not fluent 3 out, pushed along when pressed 2 out, gamely found more approaching last, stayed on (tchd 7/2)


11th September – Perth

The Clock Leary makes all to win the Class 3 3m Handicap Chase by 3/4 length under Will Kennedy in the colours of Mig Medical Installations Ltd.

Jumped left on occasions, made all, ridden 2 out, hung right run-in, stayed on well (op 4/1)


7th September – Sedgefield:

30 up for the season as Welsh Bard (George Tobitt & Richard Gurney) and Midnight Walk (Graham & Carole Worsley) both win impressively to give Team McCain and Will Kennedy a double.


1st September – Bangor

A hat-trick for Prince Khurram (His 3rd victory in 16 days) staying on well under Lorcan Murtagh to win the 2m½f Handicap Hurdle by over a length in the colours of T G Leslie.

In touch, headway 5th, led after 3 out, clear approaching 2 out, ridden before last, gamely kept finding run-in, stayed on


31st August – Sedgefield

The good form continues as Irish Hawke (Will Kennedy / Sarah & Wayne Dale) and Danceintothelight (Mr T Gillard / Mrs Sian McCain) win well giving Team McCain a double.


28th August – Cartmel

A winner for the boss!

Sticky toffee pudding for Team McCain as Tawseef lands the Class 2 Handicap Hurdle (feature race) by over 3 lengths in the hands of yard conditional Lorcan Murtagh .
