Donald McCains ‘In House’ Syndicate – Bankhouse Thoroughbreds is thrilled to be offering shares in this beautifully bred and well-made 3yr old gelding, who will be aimed at 3 and 4yr old races through the 2026/27 season.
Donald – ‘When I saw him at the Yorton Sale last year – I just had to have him – I have had my eye on the 3/4yr old race series that are now an established part of the calendar – and I think this lad is an ideal candidate for those races. He is beautifully bred, a half brother to Prends Garde a Toi, a 137 rated Chaser owned by Gigginstown House Stud and trained by Gordon Elliott, and his dam is a half sister to 3 ‘Black Type’ performers, and the dams of a further 4 horses who have won or been placed in pattern company. Physically, he is the perfect type to be very effective against his own age next season – he is strong and athletic, and it will not take too long for him to come to hand. He looks sure to give this new syndicate a lot of fun, and I am very much looking forward to getting cracking with him! He is already in work and doing everything asked of him and doing it nicely!’
His sire, Pethers Moon was a high-class horse, winner of the 2015 Group 1 Coronation Cup in Epsom. After his retirement he became a National Hunt Stallion at Yorton Farm in Wales, siring (to 2025) 44 winners from 89 runners – at a near 50% strike rate. His progeny are renowned for their athleticism and great attitudes.
The all new Bankhouse Thoroughbred Syndicate will be professionally managed by Syndicate Manager, Nick Brown. Nick brings a wealth of experience to this new venture, having managed syndicates for over 25 years. Nick has built his successful syndicate management on top class communication and having him on board will ensure that all members are kept right up to date with regular video clips and photos of the horse with updates from Donald regarding his progress and future plans. We are delighted to have Nick on board with this new syndicate and look forward to working with him.
This new syndicate will be made up of 10% shares and will run for 2 years – through to May 2028, when the horse will either be retained to run for a further season, or sold to dissolve the syndicate.
